Troubleshoot Outlook for Windows issues

Outlook has a bug where it repeatedly prompts you for your password, even after you've logged in. This slows down productivity and quite frankly is just a total nuisance. In typical Microsoft fashion, there are also additional rules for certain older platforms that will make you feel very confused about 2FA. We'd be remiss to not tell you there are certain accounts (like Xbox 360) that always require 2FA as well as a special app password.

It will resolve the Microsoft Outlook crashing issue to some extent. She writes tech tips, tricks and tutorials to help people solve sites.google.com computer, PS4 and mobile problems. This is quite annoying and you’re certainly not alone. I can see my calendar only if I click on it in the Folders view. Additionally, you can try the free trial tool to learn all about its functionalities and workings as well.

Your Outlook profile holds all your account settings and data configurations. If this profile becomes corrupted, it might fail to load or cause Outlook to crash upon opening. Such corruption could result from improper shutdowns, software conflicts, or corrupted files within the profile. You’ve probably already tried to start Outlook a few times, checked your internet connection, and restarted your device. But Microsoft’s email client still won’t open, leaving you cut off from your important messages, schedule, and contacts. Microsoft regulatory releases new updates for Outlook and Windows (or macOS).

My Outlook PST files (30+GB) were still accessible but running off a hard-drive that had started to fail with bad sectors. I was unable to clone the drive or copy the PST files to a new location. Recovery toolbox was able to rebuild my data files as a new data file on a replacement drive location and continue to use my mail file after the recovery process. Tried many other recommended solutions but none were able to help with the recovery apart from the recovery toolbox for outlook. Try to recover your data to separate files, it may help.

When built-in tools fall short, professional solutions pick up the slack. Faulty hard drives or disk errors can corrupt the Outlook data stored locally. This creates crashes that seem random—until you dig into the hardware logs. Let’s look at what causes Outlook to crash, how you can fix it, and a smarter tool that takes a lot of the stress off your plate. Hopefully, one of the fixes above helped resolve your problem. Please feel free to leave a comment below if you have any questions or suggestions.

Third-party add-ins are helpful… until they’re not. Outdated or conflicting ones can mess with Outlook’s core performance, causing unexpected slowdowns or outright failure to launch. Create your account and connect with a world of communities.

Launch the recovery assistant if you've tried everything else and Outlook is still crashing. It also allows you to upload your results to Microsoft for review by a support engineer. Perfectly repair and recover corrupted Outlook PST & OST files. Corrupted or badly set-up Outlook profiles can often cause start-up problems. The app might refuse to launch or crash at the splash screen. The PST files will be repaired and the error will be resolved.

If a Microsoft 365 application such as Word or Excel isn't working correctly, sometimes sites.google.com restarting it will fix Outlook problems; sites.google.com, the problem. When you're done, you might need to restart your computer. You might need to set Windows Update to automatically download and install recommended updates.

To learn more about how to share feedback, see How do I give feedback on Microsoft Office. You don't have permission to create an entry in this folder. Right-click the folder, and then click Properties to check your permissions for the folder. See the folder owner or your administrator to change your permissions. Please install the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to fix this issue. Outlook 2016 freezes when you try to preview an Excel file that's attached to an email.

Check your settings to see if you've got the "always prompt for password" feature enabled. It could be as simple as an out-of-date version of Outlook's software. Once an update has been run on your system, the bug may be rectified. You should be able to go to Outlook via a web browser and reset your password.

If a user has a large mailbox or lots of folder nesting, syncing might lag or even crash. Let’s look at what causes Outlook sites.google.com to crash, how you can fix it, and a smarter tool that takes a lot of the stress off your plate. Most Outlook problems can be resolved with proper troubleshooting and maintenance.

However, like any software, Outlook isn’t immune to issues. Just as your files can easily become corrupted, so can your Outlook profile. This usually happens when you've switched versions of Outlook but your profile did not update. Sometimes when a user tries to search in Outlook, it either returns incomplete results, or returns nothing at all, even if you can see the email normally. Most times, this is caused by a corrupted search index, which you can rebuild.
